In the five years not one made it back to Omaha. Miss St and Ole Miss had terrible teams in 22 and 23, LSU was mediocre in 24, Tennessee made it to a super and got swept in 25, LSU in 26????, but it doesn’t look good so far.

Just a guess but maybe a coach’s concentration is on winning the natty and his transfer analysis suffers.

The dates of When the portal opens and when you’re playing in the championship series in Omaha does put you at a disadvantage.

Teams who played in the title series also have struggled the following season.

2022: Vandy went 14-16 in the SEC, bounced in the regionals

2023: Oklahoma went 32-28, 11-13 in the Big 12, bounced in the regionals

2024: Florida did make it back to Omaha but they just got hot. They struggled all year. They went 13-17 in the SEC. They were almost ineligible for an at large bid to the NCAAT due to a nearly having losing record, finishing 28-27 overall

2025: Texas A&M was horrible and missed the NCAAT
