We don’t want people like her son in the military anyway

When seconds count you don’t want someone pissing his pants in your platoon.

Sergeant York was a CO but stepped up when it counted. He was a man of faith that didn’t want to kill, not a coward. He killed to save the lives of his friends.

Her son is quivering not because he is Desmond Doss. He is just a coward. Doss like York was against killing but served to save his fellow Americans.

Pretty sure Hegseth was serious about the trans ban, so there's no place for her "son" anyway.

I think her worries are misplaced. He's more likely to be offended by graffiti on the tampon machine in the boys' room.

To be fair, not many men walking the planet are a Doss or a York.

Doss walked into some of the worst battles of the war with nothing but a first aid kit. That is beyond having big cast iron balls.

In the early 90s I watched the dedication of the Desmond Doss Medal of Honor Highway in N. Georgia (Fort Oglethorpe, GA) as my apartment was right up the street from the site of rhe ceremony

Mr Doss was in attendance. It was an honor to see this mild, unassuming man of small build, about 5'8" 150 pounds, and think, "that was one of the bravest men on the planet in WWII". I don't think he was very comfortable with all the pomp and circumstance.
