I see that our pitching has given up runs all year, what's going on, did we bring in alot of transfers and they're not what we thought they were. Or is it returning guys not playing up to expectations, I know it's probably not the best time to be asking this.

If this was his first game to watch then the OP is clearly not the bad luck charm since LSU has been playing like this for 3 weeks now.

We’re not throwing enough strikes early in the count. If the batters take those they are behind in the count and can’t be as selective. If they start swinging early, a pitcher can induce swings at balls with first pitch change up or sliders.

Staying ahead in the count allows for pitching to be more efficient and deceptive.

We fall behind 2-0, then we have to either throw something predictable or nibble and end up with a walk.

This is by far our biggest pitching problem.

Couple this with the fact that it feels like we don't take the bat off of our shoulders until we have 2 strikes, or we have 1 pitch outs on offense and it is a perfect storm. (I know the statistics would not support me here, i'm sure, but is certainly feels like we have a LOT of 2 strike counts
