Shoal Creek is under renovation till October. How long does it take a course with renovated greens to soften up?

Not sure, but I can make myself available.

Go play.
It will be firmer, but as a typical golf board stick you will have wedges into even the longest par 4s so firmness won’t matter.
We they redid ours, the greens stayed firm for at least a year. However I’m a senior 10 index who does not swing a driver over 80 mph so I had some big clubs into some of the par 4s, and firm or soft a 5 wood is not a 60 degree wedge.

Never played it but I’ve heard it’s the closest you can get to playing Augusta without playing Augusta.

In Birmingham?
I played it the week after the PGA. If those greens are firm like the Legislators STILL are after nearly a year it will be a nightmare.
There’s no way I’d turn down an invite for it even so.
