I watched the wind and it finally laid down last Thursday and Friday so I charged my boat and took off to the lake.

Thursday I caught 5 and lost a good one at the boat. 1 was under and the other 4 were all slot fish between 14"-18". Every bite came on a wacky rigged Mardi Gras soft plastic stick bait.

Friday I went back and no bites the first hour while I threw the same wacky worm. I switched to a pearl white weightless TX rigged fluke and started catching. I caught 4 and all 4 were slot fish.

Both trips I fished from 11 am to 3 pm, so I averaged about a fish per hour. However, the bite got better as it warmed up on both days.

My biggest fish...

The girls are on the trees in 3 foot of water and buck bass are cruising everywhere in the shallows. I know this because the lack of rain has the lake very clear. Usually it's black dark water, but this year it's green and pretty clear. You can see down about 3' deep with good polarized glasses.

Nice. Got a buddy who tournament fishes Caddo and he's pulled some absolute donkeys out of there.
