In an interview played pregame Jay was talking about the hitting and referenced either the '23 or '25 team and said they were probably the best offensive team he ever coached and he looked back and they had a horrible hitting couple of games preconference play. Hopefully they bat their way out of it.

I member. And some folks were freaking out at the time. Honestly I think everyone was at least a bit concerned. Jay hadn't quite built the trust he has now. Some concern is understandable, and maybe even reasonable. There's no reason to panic at this point though. More concerning than the lack of runs, in my mind, is the lack of reps for the backups that inevitably get put in after we get monster leads. I would not be surprised if tomorrow's game is much more offensive, with teams being on their 4th day of arms. We didn't really throw that many by number thus far (I think only 7 through the 3 games), but we did throw basically all of our top end arms, so we'll see how we do on that side tomorrow. I would expect Cowan to either get the start or at least get a hunk of innings in there. But now I've veered off topic...

Probably the 2025 team. Omaha series. Although it wasn’t as bad as this weekend.

Let’s hope we get things fine tuned next couple of weeks. The amount of high fly outs and lots of fly outs in foul territory. If we could just get some mid outfield type hits where it drops b/t the infield and outfield, we’d have easily 6-8 more runs these past two games. I get it, we won and I’m happy about that, but conference play will be a lot tougher.
