If tweet fails to load, click here. Somalia has launched new digital IDs for voting, marking a significant step in the country's digital transformation. The National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) has introduced a digital ID system aimed at enhancing the country's National ID framework. This includes the HUBIYE Verification Platform, an instant digital tool for identity verification, and the e-Aqoonsi Mobile App, which allows citizens to access their digital IDs and related services directly from their smartphones. These innovations are part of NIRA's broader initiative to register all 3.5 million residents of Mogadishu and extend coverage across the entire Banadir region, with a goal to reach 15 million people nationwide by the end of 2029. The digital ID system is expected to improve service delivery, reduce fraud and corruption, and Support fair elections

What about voting makes you think it is in any what it is represented to be?

So, you're saying we should be in favor of our government providing a free digital ID system linked to the World Bank and the UN?
UM...no, thank you.
There really is nothing inherently racist or biased in requiring photo IDs to vote. That is, until you start making it harder for certain groups to obtain those IDs.
Take Alabama (please). They implemented a new voter ID law, then they started closing DMV offices in the poorest counties. So, people with no money have to find a way to travel one or two counties over just to get or renew their ID. If they cant accomplish that, then they cant vote.
Seems like this battle was already fought over 60 years ago.

And No
The whole point is Omar’s home country has voter ID laws but she fights against it here.

That might be relevant if voting was what we are told, but it is not.
