Trump and Republican Congress should push for new foreign alien status now.

Trump should start talking about revamping the immigration law by adding a legal status ID.

Legal status is registered with the government, can work, and enjoy life in the USA. The status provides no voting rights, no political activism, no govt benefits, no criminal history. This would be a pay to stay license where you can stay as long as you are able to self support for yourself and you family.

Legal status holder can apply for citizenship after 5 years and must go through the full legal process, however long that takes.

This would gain support of independent voters as well as the naturalized legal voters. It would bring respect of the laws of the country back to all those who came through the process legally and are here to truly live in a better place.

It's a big mid term win and would put Democrats in a big pickle to oppose it.
