Wife wants a new macbook in the midnight color. Internet is divided a bit on fingerprints and smudges showing up. Apple claims the new version doesn't show as many, but internet says it does. Some say you get used to it and it's not bad, others say it's terrible.

Anyone here with experience on a recent macbook model in midnight color?

I have two

They get smudged

It doesn't bother me or look gross or anything. I don't notice it or mind, and I don't like things that look dingy.

McBook

I don't know what this is but no way in hell it's better than a Big Mac.

All seriousness though I have never in my life heard of this being a consideration for someone buying a laptop

I have an M2 Midnight MacBook. It shows smudges easily. I put a Dbrand skin on it, so it's not an issue any longer.

Get a box of lens wipes from Sam's. You clean the entire thing every day for almost a year for $10.

My son has an M2 Air and I have an M4 Air both in Midnight. Smudges on the case have never been discussed. Cleaning is easy if you so choose. A damp cloth will get most fingerprints off the case if that is an issue. We don't really care about the outside. We both want the screen and keyboard to be clean. Lens wipes for a light spritz of denatured alcohol, while the computer is off, will clean it up fine.
