Lads, how often over these past 10 years have we carped about and memed about the tendency for woke Madison Avenue, Hollywood, Broadway to force actors of colour into traditionally white roles?

Finally in the year of our God Emperor Trump 2026, the tables have turned in our favour with the opposite being true.

The entire arts community is up in arms at the casting of 6-5 white chad Jacob Elordi in the lead role, playing the swarthy Heathcliff in the beloved historical drama. The best part is the the director and two leading actors have been absolutely unapologetic about the leftist outrage.

While there is no full frontal nudity of Margot Robbie to reward us, there will be plenty of steamy romantic scenes including partial nudity.

Heres a synopsis of the outrage:

quote:

The 2026 Wuthering Heights controversy centres on director Emerald Fennell's casting of Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff. Critics have slammed the decision as "whitewashing" since the novel describes the character as a "dark-skinned gipsy," while Fennell's version features a white Australian actor.

Key points of the backlash include:

Margot Robbie as Cathy: Fans feel the 35-year-old actress is too old to play the teenage Catherine Earnshaw.

Explicit Content: Early trailers suggest a "heckin" steamy, erotic thriller vibe—including a bizarre finger-sucking scene—which purists argue abandons the book's gothic themes for shock value.

Supporting Cast: The decision to cast POC actors like Shazad Latif and Hong Chau as antagonists while the leads remain white has also drawn heavy fire.
