I think Trump has sent a message to BRICS with the Venezuela operation.

Toppling the USD as the global reserve currency has been the stated goal of the BRICS nations. The BRICS nations understand if the USD is no longer the dominant global currency the US will be severely curtailed in projecting economic and military power around the world.
I think Trump wanted the BRICS nations to understand the US isn't going quietly into the night......not while he's POTUS.
