Anecdotal, I know. Filled up for 2.06/ gal on the way home yesterday. Passed the same station this morning it’s 2.32. Did I miss something in the news ? What could possibly explain such a drastic 1-day increase?
Murphy’s express, BTW.

It's still 2.11 at my closest HEB, just like it has been for a week.

Shipment of fuel is maybe from a diferent refinery increasing delivery costs.
Or gas station trying to cash in holiday travel.
Tanked up at Sams 2.04 this morning.

Winter gas is different cost than summer gas.

Usually you base your gas prices on what it takes to restock. The station could be looking at futures prices and seeing something they want to safeguard against.
That is a pretty significant increase though. Small microeconomic factors could be at play such as the has station taking a non-typical resupply from outside a contract or even a shortage of supply at the rack that supplies the delivery. Could also be a temporary profit taking based on the immediate holiday.

You "Gas" people. "Gas Price Fatigue".

Ours went from 2.49 to 2.59 in a day. Didn't look at today's price.
Google tells me that's still about average for our area.

Here it went from 2.21 to 2.57 overnight. I was surprised it didn't jump before Christmas.

I bought gas here Tuesday at $2.21, and Wednesday it went to $2.79

it does that but i expect it to be down to like 2.09 by monday.
our gas station nearby does that but it drops like a rock. They did it when it was hovering around 2.29 like 3-4 weeks ago and they jumped it up on a friday to 2.59 only to go back to 2.29 by monday
