The Saints would be hosting a playoff game at the Dome against probably the Rams or Seahawks.

Or he wasn’t ready and pushing him early hurts his development

I really think he benefited by watching a few games on the sideline.

Shuck should have been starting by Week 5...not Week 9

Right now I am glad he sat and that scout squad story they just sold about Shough makes me think it was a good decision to sit him.

I think if Shough starts Week 1 you see basically Cam Wards development...terrible start to season, SOME improvement in the last 3rd of the year, but barely average at the end of the season...and I think our win total would not be improved by much if any

Right. I look at it this way....Saints HC was a QB, OC was a QB and QB coach was a QB. I believe that they would know better when to start Shough than anyone on this board.

Not every QB needs to be thrown into the fire on day 1. Plus they gave Rattler more than enough time to prove himself.

I’m not mad that he didn’t start week 1. The future looks bright and maybe sitting and watching helped him prepare.
