Streaming live sports on YouTube?

Has YouTube given up on policing of live sports being streamed on the service? Noticed lately that almost all live sports events can be found on regular YouTube without all the hassle of paying for a dozen streaming services. Is this here to stay or not a reliable way to watch?

Depends on what you're trying to watch and what you'd consider "reliable". It's a bit easier than certain websites that do the same, but the streams on there get taken down often times, making it less reliable.
You can generally find college football/basketball games on there with ease. Depending on the matchup usually determines if it'll be taken down or not. For example, many of these lesser bowl games you'll be able to watch just fine. However, the playoff games will usually get taken down. Unless something has changed this year, that's how it used to be.
You also won't find NFL/NBA games on there.
