Where does Sam Wainwright belong on the list of loyal movie friends?

George Bailey turned down his job offer, a free vacation, another job offer, and essentially stole his dream girl from him.
Despite all that as well as becoming a New York big shot, he never forgot about George, kept in touch with him, and sent him $25k (which is $415k today) without hesitation.
To me, that kind of loyalty is up there with Samwise the Brave

Hee Haw
Sam cared more about George than George cared about Sam. Glad he finally realized it.

He was a ride or die for sure
Always thought it was funny that he had a catchphrase at like age 6 and he rolled with it forever

He WAS rubbing it in about those plastics, though.

And was a playboy / cheater with Mary.
I thought he was kind of a creep.

Even though he knew it didn't matter to Sam, George felt low key embarrassed that he was living so modestly while Sam was rolling in it. But he also knew Sam was a great guy, a good friend and didn't envy his success.

Yes, him coming to the rescue with the large money at the end was Hollywood's way of saying rich guys deserve to live like that as long as they take care of everyone they loved before they got rich.
He was an opportunist that ran with George's thoughts on making plastics out of soybeans. His dad must have been loaded because he backed him. I guess his dad wasn't the type to sit in a shabby little office, helping other people. like Mr. Bailey. They worried about making money first, then they took care of people.
