A Westeros-set open world game or MMO would be cool

Faults with the tv series aside, I think this world would be pretty fun to play around in if done right. There’s loads of runway for future expansions and content. The shortage of true magic could make healing a bit of a lift to explain, but I’m willing to suspend disbelief, lol.

Played Kingsroad but it just didn't hold my attention. A cool Assasin's Creed type game set in Westeros would be great!

Bethesda actually passed on one
GOT ended 6 years ago to massive disappointment, about 50% of viewers were women, and the average millennial is approaching their late 30s (touching early 40s if development on something started soon)
I think the ship has sailed for something ambitious. Particularly with how much it costs to build something big, how long it takes, and how cynical modern gamers are. We’re also in the middle of serious open world fatigue and MMOs are basically dead outside of a handful of long-established games

All fair points. I can’t say I disagree. I think there’s still a little demand for open-world if done right (BotW was very well received not that long ago), but it can’t be procedurally generated slop.
