Virtue signaling/ Religious question

People have always preached from street corners. But has virtue signaling taken the place (or just been added to) the number of people showing off in front of others? TikTok is 50% virtue signaling. Or is my algorithm all messed up?
Has TikTok has ushered in a new wave of self righteousness?

It is mostly narcissism.
Street preaching is about Jesus. TikTok is usually about the person posting, getting views, likes, and shares for a dopamine hit and a boost to self-esteem.

I would agree that “street preachers” and TicToc virtue signalers share the same delusion of self importance as to their subjective opinions re religious and ideological principles. A critical difference between the two is that one preaches Jesus and the other Marx. Go figure.
