When’s the last time one was made. I cant remember the last time I was excited to see one with my kid.
When I was a kid there were a few every year. Home alone. Ernest. The Santa Clause. Will they ever bring back the magic we had 15+ years ago?

They're all straight to Streaming now. Red One was a big one last year. The year (or two?) before that 8-bit Christmas on Max was highly publicized and a really great movie.

Christmas with the Kranks is the last one I remember in theatres.

Whole genres are just gone, it's really odd even though I know why it is.
Related example - my 4 year old watched Dennis the Menace recently and then watched it like 8 times in a row after.
Couldn't get over a real life kid playing in the bathtub like he does. A small thing - but almost everything is animation. Real kids doing real kid stuff is fascinating for him now and you really don't see it in modern movies/TV (DtM, Home Alone, Mighty Ducks, etc.)

As far as adult Christmas movies, last one I saw in a theater when it opened was probably The Holiday (2006).
Kids movies, maybe Elf a couple years before that?
