Option 1 - play out contract, defer decision and assess options again
Option 2 - sign new improved contract w Ole Miss
Option 3. - sign w LSU with an improved contract

Ole Miss has no leverage to make Lane sign a new contract. They can’t terminate him or ‘move on’.

If the AD fires him just not resigning early not only will they be in a deep financial hole -but the collective Ole Miss community would storm the Athletic office w pitchforks and shotguns.

Lane may just choose not to sign anything with anybody and just keep coaching into the playoffs. If he does there could be more openings in the NFL and college ((Alabama /Texas / Giants) that will be availble. More bidder, more opportunitiesto choose from.

If lane coaches through playoffs (right thing to do), then lsu and other schools move on.

Would Ole Miss really move on?

I doubt the AD would fire him without cause.

They have. No leverage - Lane just keeps coaching and winning.
