Does this guy pay attention to the clock when he is doing play by play?

He is the hardest person to listen to when trying to follow a game.

"And here it is, Mississippi State with a chance to win it, WAIT...OVERTIME!"

"3 Ball to Tie, Missed Thornton Rebounds, Foul, WAIT, No Foul...TIGERS WIN, TIGERS WIN"

I really enjoy the dead air where he's just watching and not telling you anything.

Not the clock running/time left, the score, not what's actually happening. Nothing.

He can't keep up with football. How in the hell do they expect him to do basketball? He is an embarassment!

I love how he said he hoped he did the game justice. Don't worry Jim, you butchered one of the better games in LSU basketball history, not to mention the same thing has been done numerous times during football season.

Last thread on Hawthorne was removed. He actually said "What an unbeleivable game, I hope we did it justice". I'm walking away thinking Alabama won the game.

We have top notch leaders in our sports programs. Isn't it time to do the same for our announcer too?

Pilot I love his pipes and when he is making a good call he is awesome......but he misses sooooooo much. Have you ever watched a game while listening to him?

Remove it or not...Who cares?

I have been around basketball all of my life and ABSOLUTELY feel like I have a severe case of ADD or Dyslexia when listening to him call a game.

THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY TO KEEP UP WITH WHAT HE IS SAYING...

frick yall, Hawthorne is awesome. Until you have even come close to what he has done for LSU over the past nearly 30 years then come back and say something. I wouldn't want anyone else behind the mic for LSU!

I can sense Hawthorne's passion for the game, and I respect that...but getting towards the end of the first overtime and the second overtime I did not feel informed about what the hell was going on.

It is time for Hawthorne to go. His negative calling of the games has got to have the AD throwing up. He said "if it goes into overtime, it's over for us". Washed up, Dick.
