Dimming the Stadium Lights After a Touchdown

For years more and more football stadiums have been flash dimming the lights at home touchdowns at more and more lower levels of football.
First time I saw it was several years ago at an Alabama game and more and more started the tradition. LSU started doing it a few years ago. I noticed for the Nicholls vs. Southeastern game, Southeastern was doing it.
I know technology has come a long way from the old mercury vapor lights that needed a few minutes to get back to full intensity after turning them off. Everyone remembers the Super Bowl incident where the old Super Dome lights caused a ripple at a substation and shut off power to half the dome.
Do you thing the NFL starts doing to too if a team hasn’t already done so?

I hate how they show 2 minutes of celebrations and crowd/sideline reactions instead of showing a replay on TDs

It’s this idea that fans need constant stimulation. Between a light show, piped in music, and crazy announcers. I’m not bitching about it, but it seems…unnecessary. When people fill out fan surveys, is this the stuff they crave?
