He named his daughter Landry due to his admiration of Jeff Landry and his father's close friendship with Tom Landry. Few people know this, but Landry is a common Cajun surname.
Landry Kiffin is also dating a man named Whitman Weeks who is a current LSU player, many don't even know that.
He named his son, Knox, after Nathan Knox. Nathan Knox was old Louisiana royalty that owned the home that eventually became the original governor's mansion in Baton Rouge.
Lane Kiffin is known to love bell peppers too, so Baton Rouge would be a great fit for him and the rest of his family who are already deeply ingrained with Louisiana culture.
Kiffin's favorite phrase that he repeats all the time is laissez les bons temps rouler, which means something that is fordained, or meant to happen.

I forgot to mention Kiffin's other daughter who is named Presley.
She is named after Elvis Presley, whose very first radio broadcast to the world was at the Louisiana Hayride in, you guessed it, Shreveport, Louisiana.
And Layla Kiffin has always loved jambalayla because it reminds her of her name, according to Kiffin's X.com account.
If this and all of the other things I mentioned in the first post isn't planetary alignment, I don't know what is.
Kiffin's going to be at LSU; there really isn't any way around it.

Also, Kiffin is a Welsh name and there is a city in Louisiana founded by what may be the only family of original Welsh/American origin to settle in Louisiana in the 19th century.
His name was Miles Welsh and he was of Pennsylvania Welsh extraction and the name of the city is Welsh, Louisiana, in Jefferson Davis Parish.
Monte Kiffin, while born in Nebraska, both his parents moved there from, wow, Pennsylvania.
It all lines up. Lane Kiffin actually has very deep roots and association with Louisiana.

Culture fit. No doubt. Lane was born to be a coach in Louisiana.
Mount name his oldest son after his high school best friend, Erika Lane, who happens to be a LSU dropout.
