Climactic scene of movie about the demise of the IJN battleship from the Japanese point of view. Fairly historically accurate as best I can tell. Mix of archival footage and CGI, which looks antiquated by today's standard.

I read the Walter Lord book on Midway. The '76 film is essentially a straight adaptation, but Lord is not credited
Does director John Ford appear as a character in the recent Midway movie? He was actually on the island during the attack. I can't believe the '76 did not include that

He does.
While I was put down by this message board back in 2019 when the movie premiered, the mediocre CGI notwithstanding, the newer Midway movie is far more historically accurate than the '76 film was.
