Noteworthy Cuts Today

Leigh Bodden, CB, was way out of place in a zone scheme, known as a good press coverage guy. Dunno if he could be affordable.
Report: Great cover corner. Tall enough to handle big receivers but can run with smaller one. Turns and cuts well. Knows the game and is solid in zone coverage. Catches the ball well and tackles well. Rarely plays a full season. Always dealing with injuries. Will gamble and lose at times. Excellent starter when healthy.
Falcons franchised their punter!? I noticed this note from Rotoworld tho-
The franchise number for punters is $2.483 million. Atlanta's only other consideration for the tag might have been LB Michael Boley, but Boley fell out of favor under the new coaching staff last year.
Back in '05 I was hoping they would have drafted him. Saints selected Bullocks, Fincher, Lyman, & McPherson before him.
Report: Tremendous speed. Great instincts. Makes a lot of plays in pursuit. Good blitzer who is improving in coverage. Not great at the point of attack. Tackle totals are inflated by a lot of "clean up" plays. Excellent starter.

Wow! You don't see that very often...like he's only the second one!
Todd Sauerbrun is the only punter to ever receive the franchise tag. Sauerbrun was tagged by the Panthers in 2003.

I could not click on the link for some reason but the Bills "franchised" their punter Mooreman two years ago....

What an inigma. Signed to big money in Detroit, but was always hurt and never played up to potential. I'd only take him if we could get him on the cheap. I remember Brees abusing him pretty badily last year.
Suprised no one has brought up Pacman Jones yet.
As for Boley, do you think he is better than J. Dunbar? (I don't know anything about him, but I'm pretty sure he's better than Shanle)

Ahman Green Texans
The Texans also have released linebacker Morlon Greenwood, an eight-year veteran who started ten games for the Texans in 2008. He started 16 games for the team in 2005 and 2006, and 15 in 2007.
More gas left in the tank than Shanle has?
--------------
Monday was the first day NFL teams could release players under contract. The 49ers did not make any moves, but they are expected to part ways with at least one veteran player before the start of the free-agent signing period on Feb. 27.
According to sources close to the situation, the 49ers plan to release offensive tackle Jonas Jennings, who started 23 games in four seasons after signing a seven-year, $36 million contract with the 49ers in 2005. He started just two games last season before sustaining a season-ending dislocated right shoulder. Jennings is still rehabbing the injury.
If Stinch is gone?

You guys are right. No need to insult little old ladies by comparing them to Shanlee. Seriously, you people need to lay off the P. C. crap. That BS is for lame sights like SR.

Drayton Florence CB
Great size-speed player. Has the physical tools. Can catch the ball. A physical corner who will jam his receiver. Recognizes plays well.
Mistake-prone in zone coverage. Doesn't use his size against the run. Is raw and must improve positioning and footwork in coverage.
Long-range prospect.
28 and a long range prospect?
