Verge must have so much dirt on people

It's crazy that this man just became the interim AD, let alone the fact that he still has a job and leads the search for the next Head Football Coach. He must have dirt the size of Mt. Everest on people at LSU. The guy should have been fired in 2021 when the Husch Blackwell report came out saying that he wasn't credible when they interviewed him about his knowledge of a student athlete assaulting his gf, a fellow student athlete, and not reporting it. The government literally changed the law one month AFTER Verge was punished to make it an automatic firing if any other employee did the same thing going forward. Look at how he even became a deputy AD with that back room deal when they fired Alleva, hired Woodward, and doubled Verge's salary. This stuff is better than any reality TV I've ever seen.

No. I doubt he has much pull. He is just interim AD in case papers need signing in the office. He won't make significant decisions

The press release says, "Executive Deputy Athletic Director Verge Ausberry will serve as Interim Director of Athletics, effective immediately, and will lead all facets of the athletic department, including the search for the next head football coach."

That's because he has to. He's been around enough to be the touchpoint on this type of thing. Do I think he survives when all the smoke clears? No. But I do like that there's someone who can speak truth to the infrastructure we have in place ahead of an AD or Head Coach coming in and wanting to clean shop again. For nothing.
