Matt McMahon's buyout is complex and changes based on who terminates the contract: if LSU fires him without cause, they would owe him 80% of his remaining salary. If McMahon terminates the deal, he faces a decreasing penalty: $5 million in the first year, dropping by $1 million each year until the contract's end. This year (2025-2026), the buyout for LSU is approximately $7.5 million, but it decreases annually.
