Had to be done. That doesn’t let cheese fry woody off the hook for over 130M in buyouts. He would be fired from any private sector job for this. It’s ridiculous that Woody has a job today at LSU.

Woodward did a 10 year 75M deal with Jimbo in 2017. He was fired in 2023. Assuming his contract was 100% guaranteed, his buyout would've been about $30M.
What Woodward did is float that LSU was interested in Jimbo and caused the new aTm AD to extend Jimbo's contract through 2031 and up the salary to 9M/yr. Essentially Woodward convinced aTm to pay an additional $45M to Jimbo, but he didn't sign Jimbo to the assinine extension amount.
