From the time he accepted the job all the way through tonight, it's what would ultimately get him fired.

He took the job thinking if a clown like Miles or O could win a national championship here, a smart Yankee like him could do it without even trying. He showed no respect for the job, the schedule that came along with it, the effort required. Allegedly at the beach when it's crunch time.

Then when things started going downhill he still thought he was the smartest guy in the room. He bought himself time with a Heisman caliber QB in Daniels but the defense was telling, and he had no answer. This year, the offense is a train wreck and he either didn't know how or didn't care enough to take the reins and fix it. Once again, he's the smartest guy in the room with the "spoiled" comments. Dumb Louisiana folks don't know what it takes to win games, he does.

Culminating in tonight, he has to have the last word and tells his boss how things are going to be with his staff. The whole time never realizing that he, in fact, is not the one in charge.

I really tried to like the guy and give him a chance. But good riddance to someone who, in my opinion, looked down on our school, our state, and our people when it came time buckle in and do things right.

In his first year at ND before the Tulsa game, a student by the name of Declan Sullivan was sent up in a scissor lift in 50 MPH winds. The lift collapsed and the kid was thrown from it to his death. The AD later characterized the winds as unremarkable. In the game against Tulsa, ND was driving and was within field goal range that would have put them up by nine points. Kelly decided to throw a long pass into the end zone with a first time freshman QB starter. The ball was intercepted and Tulsa then drove the ball and scored the winning TD. In the press conference after the game when questioned about the call, Brian Kelly responded Get Used To It! Thank you for taking him off our hands and congratulations on having the balls to get rid of him after only 4 years. Our AD enabled him for twelve years. The majority of our fan base and alumni were only too glad to see him go. You have my sympathies for what you have gone through. I know it only too well.
