Same distance from my house to each one. What course should I join?

An hour separates them. 30 minutes seems like a long way for a semi private course. Greystone sounds closer. Pelican has gotten pretty expensive but they have new greens. Carter is almost always in decent shape. Can’t go wrong with either. Decision should be a personal preference on course and people you know.

I’m actually a member at Greystone now. It’s basically in same category as a brec course. Not very organized

Absolutely Timbo.

I’m leaning toward Pelican. My Daughter lives close by, and I may move that way one day.

I put Greystone right under Beaver Creek and Copper Mill, and right above Santa Maria.

Member at Pelican as well and most of the time it’s just my daughter and I .. and once she leaves for college I won’t have a regular playing partner.

Greystone is a shell of what it use to be. This is an accurate position.

Greystone is also increasing their fees which makes it more of a shitshow.

I don’t know why you say that, but I tend to agree.

The Marshalls don’t do anything except hunt balls.
People constantly play without tee times in the afternoon.
Kids are allowed on the course unsupervised.
The course rating is outdated.

I would join somewhere else, but GS is closest to me and pretty cheap.

Pelican practice facilities are better
Access to decent tee times 5-7 days in advance. Two different courses.

They've increased pricing but who hasn't.

I've noticed this quite a bit at Santa Maria the last few years.

Pelican drains a lot better than most. MGA is good and they have big games that you can play in

Agree.

Almost always neighborhood members when the tee sheet is wide open. Tough to police with the first tee a quarter mile away from the pro shop.

I know this pisses off management. I wouldn’t say it’s “allowed” rather than no one calling it in when it happens.

Very. Needs to be redone pronto. New tees (mostly grey) and more water on the front.

pretty cheap.
And here you have the nail. It’s cheap as frick and for what you get, it’s run better and in better condition than anything Brec has. Anyone who puts another course higher hasn’t been there recently. People who put Beaver above it just like wide open muni courses rather than something that challenges you.

These high schoolers are getting cart keys from the pro shop. I don’t actually care if teens are playing, but some of these kids are complete dickheads and don’t know how to act on a golf course.
