The A&M Board of Regents gave Jimbo the bad contract with an extension, raise, and largest buyout in college football history at the time.

The Orgeron extension and pay raise was the worse of the 2 contracts Woodward gave out at LSU for football coach.
There was literally no market for Orgeron as head coach outside of LSU.
