I sure hope Coach Miles does some fence-mending with Bastrop Head Coach Brad Bradshaw. He said he wasn't real happy with the way the whole Benton-Randle thing came down.

And who could blame him. For 2 years this guy busted his butt to get Benton eligible. He did it not only for the kid but also for LSU. There is no way he puts out that much effort for any other school. We don't need to be pissing off Louisiana High School coaches........not with the way recruiting is getting now. We need every friend we can get.

I don't think Coach Miles had much of a choice. He was caught between a rock and a hard place. We could not afford to again lose the top recruit in the state, especially to a competitor in our own division.

I just hope Coach Miles does the right thing and contact Coach Bradshaw with a little TLC. And I think Coach Miles will.

Especially shouldn't piss off one of the coaches that will be pushing through tons of great athletes for years to come.

+1

Miles was stuck in a tough situation...but Bradshaw should understand since he was smack dab in the middle of it.

I don't think there is anyone that didn't agree with his decision. it was one or the other

It works both ways with feeder schools. Bradshaw can recruit and show that he has a direct line to the flagship.

yea this whole thing was awkward for Miles but he took the good reciever with the grades vs the good reciever who hes had the scholarship open to for the past two years but not the grades. I think Miles made the right choice

It was either Randle or Bradshaw's feelings. I'm glad Miles chose Randle.

I can promise you Les did the right thing in taking Randle over Benton. I dont think Benton will be able to keep up the grades in college. I bet he won't even be at Auburn come the 2010 season.

Considering the circumstances what else could Miles have done?He did not create the situation but he had to deal with it.

why didn't bradshaw try to get randle & benton to coexist rather than getting all pissy over a judgement call? unless, miles has been knowing about this situation for awhile, and has ignored it.

I hope we're sending over someone to wash Bradshaw's car and cut his grass or something

From what I interpreted with the info I've seen as of now, Bradshaw didn't learn of Miles pulling Benton's scholly until early yesterday morning.

It would have been safe for Miles to contact Bradshaw before he did that, perhaps he tried and Bradshaw didn't answer..who knows.

I hope they can clear the air but Bradshaw was working with Benton to go to LSU, not Auburn.

Bradshaw admits to being part of the reason Benton did not get cleared by NCAA last year because he misunderstood what the NCAA wanted.

Had he got that right Benton may have been on the team last year. Its certainly not all Bradshaws fault and some mending fences is in order but he's got some responsibility in this as well. IMO

So does Randle's Dad, Miles/LSU and us fans for putting Miles under intense pressure to sign Randle. In the end I think it probably worked out best for all parties concerned.

Maybe Miles should have played it like Kiffin and had Benton wait till Thursday to sign his LOI.

I'll take Bradshaw out to eat at one of the premier Monroe restaurants to sooth things over.

And Bradshaw and Randle's pop allegedly had a falling out because Bradshaw wanted Randle to go to LSu and his father didn't.

It really appears it was a last minute decision for Randle.
