Jeter and A-Rod botch up EZ infield pop-up. Who in your opinion fricked up? (8/17/06)

Though almost 20 years ago now (wow), I watched this play in real time back then. Priceless reactions by both Jeter and A-Rod, who of course adored each other.
Prima Donna Derek Jeter literally runs away from the gaff; A-Rod stands there like statue. And it was the LEFT-FIELDER who retrieved the ball. The boos rained down.
As official scorer, to whom would you give the error?
FWIW, the Bombers got trounced 12-2 by the Orioles.
YouTube comment are gold.

Standings as of that date (Aug 17, 2006):
NYY 70-48 .593 -- .569
BOS 69-50 .580 1.5 .546

ARod fricked up.
Yeah, he was in good position, but if the Shortstop says he has it, get out of his way.
Then for them both to just stand there after...not really a big deal since the runner on 3rd was gonna score regardless after the drop and the hitter wasn't rounding first.
Jeter was given the error on the official scorecard for causing the collision though.

I can see this argument both ways; I played both positions.
Problem was, A-Rod is already camped out under the ball in his tracks also saying he's got it.

Yeah, but neither one was professional about getting after the ball -- it was as though they played a game, "IF YOU PICK UP THE BALL, IT WAS YOUR FAULT!"

And never ever blame Jeter.
Irony: At the time A-Rod was signed by the Yanks HE was the better SS by far over Derek.

Nomar was better than Jeter, too.

Shortstop has priority. Arod should’ve backed off.
