TLDR: Vortex has an awesome no-questions warranty on their glasses too.

I’ve been a Costas guy for many years now. Love them, but every pair I’ve had needed replacement at some point because of the rubber pieces falling off the frames. The last time I tried to warrant them they told me they wouldn’t fix or swap the frames out any more.

Decided to go with a different brand. Happened to see the Vortex Jackals and they look just like my last pair of Costas at a much better price. Decided to give them a shot, and they have been great.

On Saturday we were at the baseball fields when I took a foul ball bounce off the concrete in the right eye. I looked down just as the ball bounced. It hit squarely on the right lens. It hit hard enough the glasses frames split my eyebrow. Anyways, the glasses frames were still intact and only a scuff on the lens. Went to their website, hit the live chat and in 5 minutes they were shipping me a new pair.

I bought some off of Amazon. They were normally $130. I paid $86. Model I have are the Jackals. Got them because of the warranty. They are safety glass rated and shooting glass/ballistic durability rated.

I got excited but then you said ballistics rates which usually means polycarbonate (plastic) lenses and that’s all they sell? Odd a glass company sells plastic lens glasses and not glass. I guess I’m high maintenance with my eye wear but I can’t use anything but glass.

Looks like both styles of sunglasses are plastic, not glass.

Yep. There's nothing wrong with polycarbonate/ plastic lenses for rarely used glasses like if you just keep them on the boat for fishing or in your shooting bag for the range. But I just find I scratch every day glasses way too much if they are polycarbonate.
