Cub fans are constantly begging the Ricketts to spend like the Mets....and I get it - the Cubs should, but it don't always work out.
The free agents we as Cub fans all wanted to get at the deadline - Suarez, and Gore were not good at all post deadline.....Bregman actually did pretty well but honestly not a whole lot better than Shaw who makes $40 millions less than Bregs and with better upside = and I'm so glad the Dodgers outbid us for Tanner Scott - we have 3 or 4 dumpster dive relievers who have outperformed him. Yates too for that matter.
and the Dodgers are stuck with Scott 3 more years. They can afford bad contracts more than any other organization so I'm sure it's so what for them but kinda fun to see them have to eat it anyway.
