His speech about LSU and the portal additions reminds me of Jimbo's reaction in 2019 just before his team played LSU. Jimbo relented the loss before even playing the game. Lane just did the same during his press conference because he knows his team is outmatched. After his team is outclassed on the field he can go back to his money excuses.

I think these coaches are mainly talking to their boosters/collectives through the media.

He didn't say anything I disagree with. All you have to do is read between the lines of what he said during the press conference. He knows his team will not be on the winning side at the end of the game.

I mean hope and think that LSU wins, but I’m not sure that I agree with you that Lane Kiffin doesn’t think his team can win on Saturday.
