Lowrance/Simard Recon 36V/24VTrolling Motor Reviews

My 10 year old Ipilot died this weekend. Ill probably try and fix it as a spare or to sell, but I would like to get a new one that is brushless. I want to go brushless because I use my trolling motor on my bay boat and skiff and want the ability to run 36V in the bay boat and 24v in the skiff.
Lowrance/Simrad is the lightest and least costly of the brushless motors out there. I also like the remote which has a joystick to turn the motor and also 2 programable buttons that can be linked to power poles etc.
the new Ipilots are 30#'s heavier and alot larger footprint. Power Pole is out of my price range. Garmin would be my second choice if I found bad reviews from Lowrance.
Anyone own or know a guy with a Lowrance Recon? If so, how do they like it?

Haven’t seen any on big lake yet, guides are 99% minn kota here.
Prob not going to find any reviews since they haven’t been out long enough. Rhodan was touted as the second coming of JC when they hit and now not so much. MK is breaking 100” shafts like pretzels, PP has had some issues, haven’t seen much neg on Garmin but sooner or later will.
TM’s are second to only shallow anchors for torcher by users.
Imo would let someone beta test the lowrance for the first year.

Agree on Minn Kota being the best right now. They just dont fit my needs. Gramin and Lowrance have been in the bass world for a few years now which makes me feel better. From what I read, Lowrance took over Motorguide.

More complex shite to break, bet you won’t get the service out of the recon you did with your brushed MK. Hope you do but I bet they have a planned obsolescence built into them.

I have yet to bring a t-motor in for repair as I usually do it myself, but if I did that would be a problem. There are lots of minn kota repair shops around. Lowrance - not so much.
