Russia and China Watching it's People

So, you know how the Chinese have created a high-tech dystopian system that watches every move? Yeah, the Russians are copying that:



The 'Max' app is a copy of the Chinese 'WeChat' which is obliged to share data with the Chinese government under the China Internet Security Law and National Intelligence Law.

Starting Sept. 1, Max must come pre-installed on all smartphones, tablets, computers and smart TVs sold in Russia, no exceptions, while the Russian communications regulator Roskomnadzor is imposing restrictions of the use of other messenger applications

"Users have mocked the primitive marketing messaging, with streamer JesusAVGN noting that Max is being praised simply for performing its basic function. "With Max, they'll catch you even in the elevator," he joked, hinting that Max, like VK in general, shares data with Russian authorities"
