this is college football! Most years 95% of teams (or more) don't know what they have with their teams until after 5 or 6 games. Too many new players, chemistry not established yet.
Fortunately, the LSU defense established chemistry right away. they are going to play good enough to win every single week.
so, we just need to win until it all comes together for the offense so that by midseason we are clicking and be poised for a run.
i'm nervous right now when we play a quality team like Florida. But, hey, there's no rule that says it takes 5 or 6 weeks - we could do it by week 3! Geaux Tigers.

Cool, no one is surprised. This isn’t a unique edgy take..

It’s all by design, it will be fine.

The biggest issue is the Oline, but we could see a lot of improvement there as they gel and get accustomed to working together. If the Oline starts playing well (And Nuss starts hitting deep balls like he did two years ago), this team is going to be really hard to beat.
We can hope...

Yes teams do get better. Thinking of our best teams, 2003 offense improved over the season if I recall. 2007 and 2019 offenses came out strong from the start.
