LA trooper shooting and police car chase. Terrebonne/Lafourche

Had 20-30 different cop cars pass on both sides of bayou lafourche chasing a Ford raptor.

Damn, NattyLite told me he heard it was a police chase right before your post. Pasture fire on 308 across the bayou from Alumni Grill was happening at the same time. Traffic was terrible on this side of town at 5.

One of those net grapplers would have worked great.

Let that net get all up in the back axle and just put on the brakes. Rip the back axle clean off the truck

Passenger was dead on scene.

Evidently, the passenger had a gun.

REGION 2 RELEASE UPDATE
September 8, 2025


UPDATE – As the investigation progresses, initial information reveals that Troopers were attempting to stop the vehicle as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation. Preliminary evidence obtained by the Force Investigation Unit (FIU) has revealed that the passenger exited the vehicle armed with a firearm.

The driver of the vehicle was transported from the crash scene to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Once released, he will be booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Center for various charges related to this incident. The Louisiana State Police Crime Lab is assisting with this active and ongoing investigation. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
