It seems all of the reports coming out of the 11 on 11 and situational scrimmages that the run game is non-existent. Plenty of talk about Chris Hilton, Zavion Thomas, Barrion Brown, etc. Nothing about Durham, Berry and Jackson except for the occasional swing pass. Is this intentional? Trying to avoid injuries? Or, is the run game still so suspect that they’re going to throw 45 times per game and preparing for it?

You miss CD's 45y TD run a few days back?

Look at it like this... one of our worst OL in terms of opening up holes in the run game last year, Durham was a true freshman with a bum foot and still ran for almost 800 yards.

Yes the pass may have to open up the run, but there's a reason CD is the preseason favorite to lead the league in rushing.

We don't a thing yet about how good or how bad our running game is. Hugh difference between practicing and scrimmaging against your own team and playing a game against another team. We may not even know that till the third game.

Looks like the same offense as last year. Shotgun draws aren't gonna be productive unless your passing game is lighting it up.

Are you a position coach at LSU? Or are you invited to our practices and scrimmages? Just wondering how you know this.

This couldn’t be further from the truth about what’s being reported. Caden Durham has busted atleast 40 yd TD run every practice. Yea the DL is getting the better OL right now but they are opening up holes and the run game is a lot different schematically than it was last year

The only thing this post brings up that's relevant is I haven't heard Kaleb Jackson's name once. Maybe I just missed the soundbite, but has he done anything that's been talked about this camp?

He essentially ran for 750 yards and 6 TDs averaging 5.3 ypc with 6 TDs in 11 games. The last 8 games he played with dislocated toes.

For reference Derrius Guice ran for 1250 and 11 TDs in his last season at 5.3 ypc
Leonard Fournette ran for 1030 yards and 10 TDs as a true feeshman averaging 5.5 ypc

Every other practice he's ripping off a big TD

He has odds in some places to lead the SEC in rushing

Many national media members rank him in the top 3 of SEC RBs.

In all honesty it depends on how many carries they give him. If he gets 200 carries in 13 games pre playoffs, you're likely looking at no less than 1200 yards rushing. That's not including how dangerous he is as a receiver out the backfield.

I will say this, i follow all LSU football media, and rarely if ever heae his name. I hear Harlem Berry's every other day though. He's still developing, however there are flashes. We probably won't see how dangerous he is until game day. That Gooden kid is wrecking shop.

I really believe we are not thinking that maybe the DL is way more relentless than the OL isn’t doing their job. Four of the obvious starters all have experience, it's just that they aren't cohesive with each other yet. Once that happens, it's lights out. We have the RB talent to run for 200+ a game. Just need some lanes.

You missed some of the notes then. Durham looks good and has had numerous big runs.

It sounds like every day the run game has gotten stuffed 5/6 times but the 1 time it wasn't stuffed it went for a long TD. It's good if you want to look at it as good, and it's bad if you want to look at it as bad. I think it's smarter to stay neutral on it as it's just a scrimmage.
