Anyone familiar with Homesite? My homeowners insurance is going up $500 a year with USAA. I have been shopping around and the cheapest I found was Homesite which is the same price that I have been paying. I want to switch but from what I have read online, Homesite is terrible with claims and drop people for dumb reasons. Anyone else have them or dealt with them in the past?

USAA was great when we had a hurricane claim. I think you'd be crazy to drop them if not even saving any $. I've heard they can be expensive so I've been meaning to shop around but would have to be substantial savings and a known reliable company to make me switch.

For $500 I would stick with current policy. What I did recently was look at the declaration and adjust my coverages. Contents was valued at 70% of dwelling . That was too high. I lowered contents, loss of use and raised deductible and ending up saving about $1,200.

Buy cheap- buy twice

When you hear people bad mouth insirance carriers, it’s because of the cheap carriers who only want to get in and get out.

Usaa is quality and they pay their claims. It’d be worth it to stay with them imo
