With the two population bases about the same it's amazing how many more and better athletes Louisiana puts out than Alabama. Dang, Bama's best recruit this year, Flucker, is from Louisiana. So what gives??
Whats the reason??........the gumbo, the crawfish, the water.

Fluker isn't from Alabama. He lived in Alabama and played at McGill-Toolen, then moved to Louisiana, then to Biloxi, Mississippi, then to Foley, Alabama

It's a love of team sports that makes LA special. No where is Southern Hostitality more present than in Louisiana, even in the Big City. Most of the country, unfortunatley, is all about individualism.

Alabama has some great players too. I would say they turn out about equal an equal number of great players. Louisiana has always produced great defensive linemen. Something Alabama hasn't had in a while.

Actually, we do have a good board, and I check it as much as I do this one. But TigerDroppings allows people to talk about rumors and stuff. But LSU is usually on the same prospects that Bama is, so I like to know whats goin on over there

It's retard strength!!
Y'alls genetics are so much more fricked up than ours. We just have brothers and rednecks. Y'all have brothers and rednecks with a little dash of coonass and I think that is what gives y'all the slight edge over us.
Just my opinion but I am not a scientist.

As of the 2007 estimated census, the state of Alabama had a population of 4,627,851. The state of Louisiana had a population of 4,293,204. Louisiana's population fell from 4,515,770 in 2000, obviously due to Hurricane Katrina.
According to the reports from USA Today, Louisiana produced 62 current NFL players, while Alabama produced 46. Louisiana was 7th most in the country, while Alabama was 13th. According to the AJC, in the category of most SEC/ACC signees per state, Alabama produced 43, while Louisiana produced 23. Of course this is misleading, because Louisiana prospects are less likely to sign with an ACC school, than Alabama prospects, due to proximity.
NFL players per capita, Louisiana is the second most nationally, while Alabama ranks fifth.
Both states rank very high on these lists, but it seems Louisiana is producing more NFL prospects right now. This could change with Louisiana losing population. It will be interesting to see.

This would be my guess. This information is from the US Consensus Bereau.
Alabama:
White 71.2%
Black 26.3%
Louisisana:
White 65.4%
Black 31.7%
There are many other things that play into the above information. For example; the number of Males in the 18-22 year old range.
Statistically, there are more black players in the SEC than white players that actually see playing time so it would stand to reason that if you have a higher black population you will have a greater number of atheletes playing college football.

How dare you bring up factual information about black people as a whole?
That's racist.
Posted on 1/31/09 at 4:36 pm to BamaScoop
as of 2006, La. had 200,000 more blacks than alabama had.
I would say thats the answer
