Simpson's stats offensively and defensively are much better than Carraway, so we will see

Omaha reservations [ON] !!!
Seemingly a ton of good competition around the diamond. I predict best three hitters of the transfers, Pearson, Reaves will man first, second, third and DH. I think we eventually see two of Caraway/Simpson/Dardar unless Reaves hits too much to keep off the field. Yorke/Pearson platoon at 1B/DH but if Braun’s scouting report (hits every where he’s been) holds up, he’s a true 1B, and the big boys platoon based on matchup at DH.
And Serna will get a lot of opportunities to hit I imagine, we need righty hitters. Intrigued to see if Clauss or Ruckert can be our future SS (‘27 team). Excited to (hopefully) see a full season of locked in and healthy monster at the plate. Last fall he didn’t practice I think and it seemed to take him a while to get his mojo back at the plate this past year. His fielding is ++.
Out pitching depth is unreal..we have maybe seven or eight guys I’d like to see get a chance to start games, and that’s just off the list of righty’s

Great post, but who are your leading candidates for DH?

Simpson's stats offensively
From High Point. We will see how that translates. Should see plenty of both in the lineup, DH, 2B, etc

The losers of the infield battle
I lean Pearson or Simpson, but Koki Riley had his IF as 1B: Dardar, 2B: Simpson, SS: Milam, 3B: Caraway, DH: Yorke so who knows
There's a bunch of talent on this team

Anyone else notice that outfield by the way? Probably a pretty good thing to run back the three guys who just swept a CWS final their most recent time out, right? Now imagine they all get better this offseason
shite, we better be good at football this fall because Feb can’t come soon enough

Tony Vitello in here with the serial downvotes

So who do we think our weekend rotation of starters are?
Posted on 7/17/25 at 10:17 pm to Draco Malfoy
Long way to go for that but wouldn't be surprised if it was Evans, Cowan, and Schmidt/Cooper Moore

burreauxxxx, if I recall
Can’t hardly wait til spring 2026 for a magician or burreauxxxx to tell everyone how bad our pitching and timely hitting is or how much CJJ sucks while we win 75% of the games

I don’t see any world where Simpson doesn't start. I think he is the 2nd most locked in infielder behind Monster

If Schmidt takes that next step like Anderson did his second year then i definitely see a Evans/Schmidt/Moore weekend rotation. Also I feel like people are forgetting about or sleeping on Sheerin. Remember this guy can throw 100 mph gas along with wicked swing and miss pitches. If Sheerin gets his command in check then he’s going to be awfully hard to keep out of starting rotation unless you put him as your closer.

Simpson isn’t sitting if he hits the ball like he did this past season

I dont doubt his ability, I'm pretty excited about him
But against p4 competition he's been bad when he's had opportunities, albeit I think he's a valuable piece here
I also dont think he rides the bench, I just think he's gonna have to earn it

You pretty spot on especially with Reaves as the 2B backup because thats where he belongs.
So who is the DH? Pearson? Simpson or Caraway?

I have a feeling Caraway is the third baseman. He's not a great defender, but was a top 50 prospect before the season this year. He has less pressure at LSU with stars around him so I expect him to be a great addition.
I tend to lean Simpson at DH over Pearson, but a lot of different players will play there

You mentioned 39 players with only 34 spots available.
So someone might get redshirted or cut.
How many can you dress per game? 25? 27?

Unless Yorke is more athletic than he looks, I could foresee him being a primary DH role similar to Beloso/Frey in the past, and utilizing one of the new third basemens to stick at 1st if they can swing it.
