I'll be down there in 2 weeks to take my oldest for the 1st time.

I have never been scalloping but I love that part of Florida. The Forgotten coast. St George Island is probably my favorite place to vacation on the Gulf.
Sorry, I'm no help, I am curious to hear what folks say, though.

I went to Cape San Blas last year. Can’t wait to go this summer. What fun.

I have several friends with places in Steinhatchee and early it wasn't great from what I was told....lot of water clarity issues and wind. And of course hoardes of people. Still one of my favorite places on the planet even if it has been discovered lo these many years....

One of the people I know with a place in Steinhatchee also has an offshore boat and the offshore fishing, specifically bottom fishing, has suffered from wind and high seas more than it normally does. I check the West Tamp buoy (about 100 miles SW of Deadman Bay) periodically and it has been pretty sporty at times over the last 60 days...seems to have settled into typical summer calm now though. High winds and seas at that bouy typically means a pretty rough passage at Deadman and scalloping will be tougher....but seems to have settled in from what it was around the first of June through the third week or so.
