Couldn’t decide to post this on here or outdoor board but figured since it’s more travel related here we go.
Looking to take a long weekend sometime with wife and daughter (toddler). Really just want to relax and hang out. Maybe do some fishing, light hiking/walking, stargazing, etc…
I don’t mind roughing it a bit but the old lady is a bit more particular. I know Toledo Bend has some good fishing, but is it nice/pretty out there? Any difference between LA/TX side?
Will probably wait until the temp drops a bit in the fall but wanted to get some opinions from those who know the area.

I’ve got a place mid lake. It’s a beautiful area. I’d look into South Toledo Bend State park. Excellent facility some nice cabins and the grounds are walking friendly. The south end is easier to navigate the lake. I like it better than the North Park And fishing should be better in the summer months. Have fun.

There are some pretty sick Airbnbs you can get. I’d recommend that and go to the parks for a day. They recently opened a water park that’s got a lazy river. There’s actually a few things to do around there and some decent bars and restaurants. Most is concentrated around mid lake or “Toledo Town”
