Golf schools

Anyone here ever been to an immersive 3-5 day “golf school”. Just curious about the experience and ROI. I’m a 12 handicap and have a decent swing foundation. I’ve taken lessons and they’ve certainly helped. I’ll continue to take periodic lessons, just wanted to see if anyone had seen how a school helped take them to the next level.

I had a friend that went to Mike Bender in FL for a week. Shaved about 10 strokes off. He went from mid 90’s to mid 80’s. Then he got married and had twins and fell off the face of the earth.

Blind Eye - how is your course management? I found this mindset along, shaved 3-5 strokes.

Pretty good from a course management standpoint. I don’t try heroic shots. My magic layup distance is to 105 yards so as to avoid half shots. I keep my driver in my bag when I know it can get me in trouble. That being said, I 3 putt waaay too much and my chipping could be better.

What does something like that cost?

This was right after Covid but I believe all in was around 5k. That was staying in a hotel, transportation, lessons, meals, tips. If I remember correctly first day was an evaluation, next day was lesson, them third day was small group sessions on different facets of the game. Fourth day was more lessons then fifth day was on course 5-6 holes actually playing and talking through different shots.
