2006 TEAM VS. 2007 TEAM

I know the 07 team won the title, but with 2 losses you cant deny they were lucky to get a chance at the title game. Everytime I think of the 06 team I cant help but believe they were better than 07.
In a dream contest who would win this game. Personally, I think the 2006 team would beat our 2007 National Champions.
Also, when you throw in the 03 champs which team ends up being the best so far this decade. Between the 03 and 06 teams I think it would be a tossup.

I would love to see the 06 Offense v the 07 Defense, at least, or just watching some of the practices during that period. That would be a thing of beauty!

I think it depends at what part of the season you like at. At the begining of the season 07 was better, at the end 06 was better. Both at there peaks 06 is better mainly because of jr. The 03?is the. Best of the three there defense was just to good to be beat.

2006 in a close game... the 2007 team had more heart but 2006 had sooo much talent.

our 06 defense & offense were better....remember, we had jimbo in 06..give us crowton with KW on fire the last half of the year + JRuss, bowe, buster, early, lafell

The '06 team is still the best I've ever seen!! I'll go to my grave saying Jimbo cost a National Title(Auburn game)!!
The SEC championship game with UF would have been for the ages and undoubtably for the NC!!
Jimbo Fisher

2007 team hands down. The 2007 team realized potential by putting up at least 27 points for every game, while the 2006 offense was spits and spurts offensively all year. Yes, 2007 lost 2 games, both in 3OT's, but te 2007 team at their best was much more complete than the 2006 team at their best. And of course there is that crystal trophy also

the 06 team was more talented than the 07 team but the 07 team would have won a game between them meinly because of JR brains.

I would say that the 2006 team would absolutely blow the 2007 team out of the water if they had Gary Crowton, but with Jimbo Fisher, it would be close.

As an outsider, I'd say 06 LSU > 07 LSU

06 is by far the better team.
06 lost two games, one on the road to the national champion Gators (top 5 at the time), and again to the only team to beat the national champion Gators, Auburn (top 10 at the time).
07 lost to two horribly inferior teams. We lost to Kentucky (who the 06 team beat 49-0), and to Arkansas (who the 06 team beat on the road when they represented the West as a top 10 team).
2007 was lucky, and anyone who says it has anything to do with JR at QB needs to jump off a ledge.

2006 team was the most loaded 2 loss team ever. heh.

that's awesome, KW just running all over ppl for both teams. I think SFP came up with that box score.

03 was without a doubt the best. JV was a beast backed up by broussard and addai. Mauck was cool in the pocket and always made the big plays. Defense was sick. Michael Clayton, Skyler Green, need i say more.

By measurables:
Edge -
QB: 2006
RB: 2007
OL: 2007
WR: 2006
DL: 2006
LB: EVEN
DB: 2006
ST: 2007
Coaching: 2007 (Crowton >>>> Fisher)
They are pretty even on paper. I would give 2006 the edge due to 1) a better defense and 2) more consistency and playmaking ability at the QB position.
