PSA: the betting markets related to player trades are meaningless

Offshore sports books post these markets on guys who could theoretically get traded and people on NBA twitter thinks that means that “Vegas” (none of these books are actually in Vegas) knows something.
These markets are just *slightly* educated guesses. The primary goal is marketin - they just want people to talk about the sportsbook. Also a decent chance they get a 4 month loan out of it when people bet and the book gets to hold the money until late October when the new season starts and the player hasn’t been traded.
This post was inspired by Nuggets fans frothing at the mouth because Bovada says they’re the “leaders” to trade for Trey Murphy
