I don't recall him ever supporting a war
Could be wrong - I was wrong one time back in 1963 or so
ETA: He did support Iraqi war and Bush - though it appears it fit the circumstances of his analytical work.
I believe he was actually a history professor and has written history about the world wars and the post war conflicts. He wrote "warfare and agriculture" but this was historical analysis; so maybe he presumes war as a natural human state - arguably it is.
