For those that have made the drive up this way, which would be the better route? Through Memphis is slightly faster but faster isn't a huge factor in this case. May also stop half way.

my parents live 1/2 year in pelsor and 1/2 year in rogers. i've taken that drive many dozens of times and i can say without hesitation its one of the single most boring drives you can take in the continental US. so pick your poison it sucks no matter which direction you go

i've tried thru ruston, thru pine bluff and thru memphis...none of them are pleasurable

It's that drive from Natchez to Little Rock that has zero going on.
Northern Arkansas around the Buffalo River gets very scenic.

Go through Memphis. The drive between Conway and Branson is 2.5 hours of hell.

I’m following this because we are driving from Rome Ga to Eureka Springs AR in early June. Staying in Memphis on the way, so was looking at routes from there to Eureka. I’ve spent plenty of time in Jonesboro so I know that way, but wasn’t certain if I wanted to go to Little Rock and then up to see different country.

I’ve driven every possible route, and the biggest problem with your selection is the complete absence of bathroom and food stops for long stretches. If you need breaks for kids, be prepared.

The most scenic route is to Shreveport through the Ouachitas on the west (Mena, Fort Smith, Fayetteville).
